Letters to the Editor

I really enjoyed you article on time management for scrapbooking. I have shared it with my friends that are fellow scrapbook addicts. I think that I could really use the system of planning out for additional pages at one time, but when I read the article it said to print out the planning sheet to use in the planning process. When I attempted to print the sheet by clicking on the bold wording "print planning sheet", the article did not send me to the planning sheet. I would really appreciate if you could send me the planning sheet or tell me where to find the sheet.
Thank you for the wonderful article.

I first started exploring scrapbook sites on the web in October of 1998 and yours was one of the first sites I found. I'd just like to say that I like the look of the site so much better now. The fonts, the colors, the layout.
I'll be around more, now. Thanks!

Someone is watching my life and its goings on. I realized that the article was very much like my life with the exception that the kids are my grand children! This was a typical day for me too! I laughed when I thought about how organized I used to be. But, I prefer my new life as Mimi. I used to have every 15 minutes scheduled when my kids were little; however, I have seen the light of this new fun life of "stay-at-home-moms" or in my case stay at home grandmother. I have taught my 3 year old grandchild her ABCs upper and lower case and how to cut with fancy
scissors, to glue, use the printer on the computer, and which button to push on the color copier to copy a pretty picture. I am going to show her how to scrapbook with wallpaper and copies of photos until she can learn how to take her own photos that she likes. Yeap this is the life I want to live and I don't have to worry if I have to stop on my current project to read a story or to explain what lesson behind
"The Little Red Hen" is all about.

I saw so much of myself in the before chart in your article. I just love going to the local scrapbook store and grabbing whatever seems cutest at the time! After pouring over the after time management chart, I sat down with the pics for my youngest daughters album and got to work getting everything together. The end result was getting nine pages done in one
Sunday afternoon. If I keep this up, I might even get caught up one day! I was so impressed that I printed out a copy for my mom, who is a newbie. She has started doing all her pages the same way, sitting down and getting all supplies done for each of her vacations for her vacation album. She too is almost finished with one trip to London and is ready to start on the next one!
Thanks for the great idea!!!

I'm writing to say thank you for setting up this page. I live in
Australia and have just recently gotten involved in scrapbooking. There
are very limited places to go hear and my only source is one woman who
is very nice but lacks your experience. Your site has shown me what can
be done and I'm quite excited. Please keep up the good work I will be
visiting often thank you.

I am a Creative Memories Consultant and I have been one for 3 years. I
started scrapbooking 8 years ago after going to a Creative Memories Home Class. I just read your article that says we are here like
Tupperware only to sell product and that we are just as good as our upline. You just don't know what you are talking about. What do you think the craft
stores and scrapbook stores are there for (to sell you products that could damage your photos) other than to take advantage of what Creative
Memories has started. I help my customers complete their albums and I care about them not how much money they spend. I would also like to
inform you that we have training conventions and videos about our product. We also have an 800 number that we can call any time with
questions that are not covered in our Consultant Guide. I also know that if my customers put their photos in our albums that out albums will
not damage their photos. I now know why I will have no need for your web site any longer. I'll bet you don't print this in your column.

Editor's response
As a former Creative Memories Consultant I know what I am talking about regarding Creative
Memories business practices. I
compare Creative Memories to Tupperware only because they are both
home-based sales businesses and Tupperware has gained world-wide
recognition. The craft stores are in business to sell consumers products
as well as the scrapbooking consultants, I never stated otherwise.
As for craft stores taking advantage of what
"Creative Memories has started" You may not know that the LDS
community actually started this scrapbooking craze over 25 years ago.
Marielen Christensen of Keeping Memories Alive began using the
"memory book concept" in 1976- long before Creative Memories
came along.
Scrapbooking.com and its related sites are here to help
you gain useful information about scrapbooking that you might not
otherwise know like the fact that scrapbooking was started in 1976 in
Utah!! There are many great scrapbooking products on the market and Scrapbooking.com
wants to help scrapbookers find them so they can create beautiful,
long-lasting scrapbooks full of their precious pictures and memories.
