Die Cut Borders

I still love die cut borders! Counted as one of the original layout embellishments, the die cut continues to surprise me with its versatility. Adding layers, punches and even faces will spruce up the old die cut and enable you to use an old stand by.

The first layout, Josh Turns One, is a layered technique. I used 6 different coordinating colors and trimmed the brim off three. Glue the brim down and use the remaining scraps, along with any other scraps, to punch out different shapes. Place on a vertical strip along the left hand side.

For Halloween, layer your candy corn and then add a little personality by drawing a face on. Set it on black gingham to accentuate the colors.
